Ellenville Playground

The E.P.C. is a group of proud Village of Ellenville and Town of Wawarsing residents who would like to see a close, safe place for our children and neighbors to meet and play. Every kid deserves a great place to play. Kids who play are healthier and less likely to be obese. They do better in school. And they learn social skills that help them become happy, well adjusted adults. Our kids aren't getting enough unstructured play. They spend more time than ever in front of computers and televisions. And safe, acceessible playspaces are disappearing. That's why we've teamed up with KABOOM (a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing play back into the lives of children) to help create a volunteer-built playspace.

We are thankful to welcome the Shawangunk Valley Kiwanis Club to our membership. We are not only completely 100%, non-profit but we are now sponsored by a 501(c)(3).

Our unique design of the playground will incorporate features that will allow children with physical disabilties to also enjoy the park.

We are in need of volunteers to help build the playground from June 10th through the 14th in 2009. This playground is not just for our community but for surrounding communities as well.

We are still in need of volunteers in many other areas too. Committee members, fundraisers, bakers, builders, laborers, consession stand operators and others. All high school students will receive community service hours when they volunteer.

Perhaps if you don't have time to volunteer, you would like to help out by purchasing a sponsorship of which 100% of the proceeds will go to the playground fund.
